13th JAN 2026

Today was average opening LP on 80m to West Coast. Mainly tested the new re-strung beverages.

NR6Q came to lovely signal around 56. N7RY came to 44 at max and Don was vyvy weak. Just about to exchange reports and even that was hard work. Bob N7UA came to say hello and was loud, above 57-58. Not the strongest but very good indeed.

I managed to replace the wires on the SE beverages today. The twisted pairs worked well but I am happy to report that WD1 from CZ Army with 8 copper strands and 2 steel ones reduced the total resistance of 2-wire system by 30 ohms! Much better (by feel).

NR6Q

N7UA

FK8IK came to 559 on CW but signals were down compared to average condx.

Will see what happens tomorrow.

Well before tomorrow, I managed to work Kim HL5IVL on 160m CW for my first South Korea on 160m. I am new to 160m, always liked it and only worked in contests from M6T. Running from space restricted location is yet even more challenging.

PS - Again I saw a spot of me being accused of beeing websdr cheater...hihi. It kinds of makes me laugh, as it just proves I am doing the things the right way. Getting wet and cold and...lot of work.

When listening to 160m in the NW path I now have a very clear RX on the baltic NAV Beacons.
